Installing Home Inspector Pro Desktop
Note: If installing as an update to the version you have on your PC, close the HIP software before continuing.
Step 1: Double-Click your downloaded file.
Windows Users: The file may pop up a security screen. You should click More Info and then click Run anyway.
Mac Users: A window may pop up telling you that the software developer could not be identified. Cancel the window and then hold CTRL on your keyboard and click the cardboard box install file. Keep holding CTRL and click Open in the menu that pops up. A similar message will appear, but this time there will be an Open button in the box. Click the Open button and input your Mac Password on the next screen to start the installer.
Step 2: Click I agree on the License Agreement page.
Step 3: Click on Install (Note: If Updating and HIP is not in the default location, change the Install Location to the Home Inspector Pro Folder on your PC)
Mac Users: During install, HIP will request access to the Documents folder on your Mac. This is required for the application to run correctly. Click Allow to set the permissions.
Step 4: Once the installation is complete, you may click Finish.
Troubleshooting
Cannot Open File for Writing Error - Common if updating the HIP desktop to a newer version. This typically indicates the HIP Software is Open. Close the HIP Software before running the installer.
