Introduction

Purpose: This Article goes over how to translate your report into a different language.

Audience: This article is for users who wish to translate their report into a different language for their clients.

Quick Summary

The HIP Report Translation uses AI translation to translate your report into another language. For everyone’s protection, the generated report will also contain the original language version along with the translated version. Currently, you can translate to English, French, Canadian-French, and Spanish.

Due to the imperfect nature of AI translation, a disclaimer will be added for translated reports.

Note: The AI Translation is not able to translate inserted PDF Documents.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: After completing your inspection data entry, click Generate Report.

Step 2: After selecting your sections, in the bottom right corner of the Section Color and Print Order Screen Check the Box for Include Translation and use the drop-down to select your desired language and click Close

Step 3: Save the PDF as normal.

Note: Your report will take some extra time to generate.

Once complete, you will see your report has both the original language and translated version.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Report generation is taking longer than usual. This extended time is necessary to complete the translation for the entire report, in addition to generating a report that is twice the usual size.

FAQ

Can I generate a report with only the translation? No. At this time with the current state of AI translation it is required for legal purposes to include the original language in the report as well. 

Will other languages be available in the future? Other languages may be added in the future, depending on use and demand of the current feature.

I have inserted a PDF document into my report, but it’s not being translated. Due to how report translation occurs, inserted PDF documents cannot be translated.
