Introduction


Purpose: This article goes over creating and using Template Bundles in HIP Desktop.

Audience: This article is useful for users who need to send customized templates to other users.


Quick Summary


A template bundle will include the main .tpz file along with any supporting documents like .hdf, .pdf, cover page and stationary files, and linked photos needed by the template.


Note: Template Bundles require HIP Desktop v6.8.3 or higher.


Step-by-Step Instructions


Creating Template Bundles


Step 1: Click on File and then Create Template Bundle.




Step 2: Select the template from your list you wish to bundle and click Select.



Step 3: Save the .tpzx file for ease of use, the file is automatically named with the same name as the template. 




Step 4: Your bundle is now created. You can send the .tpzx file to other inspectors with your template and all associated files.




Loading a Template Bundle


Note: Follow these steps after you download and save the received files to your PC.



Step 1: Click File and then Open Template Bundle



Step 2:  Browse to and Select the file from your PC and click Open



Step 3: If prompted, choose to Replace HDF document.




Step 4: Once complete, your new template will be available in Open Template.

FAQ


Can template Bundles be shared by Dropbox to multiple users? Yes. The .tpzx file will contain all the files needed for the template and can be saved to a shared Dropbox and loaded as mentioned in the article.
