A feature of HIP Mobile is the ability to save a full-sized copy of any photo taken in the HIP Mobile app. This option can be enabled in the Settings tab of the HIP Mobile app. To enable this feature, go to the Settings tab, click on the slider to the right of Save Full Size Images, then click on Save at the bottom of the screen.
After enabling this feature, any photo taken in the HIP Mobile app will save a full-sized version of that photo on the device in the gallery on your device, in addition to the resized image stored in your inspection. These photos are stored in the following location: Android\Data\com.homeinspectorpro.mobile\files\full_images\
Some Android devices will not show the photos immediately in the gallery or the Photos app on your device. This may occur, as the device re-indexes those files at different times to conserve battery life. If you go to the gallery and see that the photos have not shown up, you have a few options:
- Force close the app you’re using and open it again. This should force a re-index of the photos and your photos should then appear. For instructions on force closing an app, see these instructions: https://support.google.com/android/answer/9079646?hl=en#zippy=%2Cclose-apps
- Restart your device. Once your device restarts, open the gallery or Photos app and your photos should now appear.
- If for some reason your full-sized photos do not appear in the gallery after doing the above steps, you can access the photos directly on your device by following the instructions below.
To access these photos directly on your device, install a file manager app on your device such as X-plore, from the Google Play Store. Once the app is installed and opened for the first time, you will receive a prompt to Allow access to manage all files. You will need to allow this permission in order to see the folders and images in the location mentioned above.
After full access has been allowed, you can open the X-plore app and navigate to the full_images folder by tapping on the following folders:Internal shared storage > Android > data > com.homeinspectorpro.mobile > files > full_images
