These instructions cover how to launch the Home Inspector Pro program on a macOS machine, and how to copy the log entries to be sent via email.
- Confirm the Home Inspector Pro program is currently closed.
- In the Finder, go to File menu and select New Finder Window. A new window will open.
- Go to the Applications folder.
- Go to the Utilities folder.
- Double-click on the Terminal application. A terminal window will then open.
- Return to the Finder window.
- Go to the Applications folder.
- Find the Home Inspector Pro.app.
- Right-click on the Home Inspector Pro.app (or hold down the Control key and click on the Home Inspector Pro.app), select Show Package Contents.
- Double-click on Contents.
- Double-click on MacOS.
- Drag and drop the Home Inspector Pro app to the Terminal window.
- Press Enter. The app will then begin running on the console, the app will begin running as normal.
To save a copy the log entries for submission:
- Go to the Terminal app.
- Go to the Shell menu and select Export Text As (or, on your keyboard, press the Command key and S).
- Give the saved log a file name, and select a location for the file to be saved (such as your Desktop or Documents folder).
- Click Save. The log file will then be saved.
You can then send the log file as an attachment via email to the person requesting the log, or to help@homeinspectorpro.com
