Square:
It is recommended that you complete these steps on a laptop or desktop.
Step 1: Login into Square Dashboard here.
2. Click on the 3 lines near the top left to show the menu if it is not already.
3. Scroll down to and click on “Settings” then “App Integrations”.
4. Scroll down to “Square App Marketplace” and click on “Visit App Marketplace”.
5. Near the top left click on “More” then “Square Developer” from the menu.
6. At this point you may need to login or create an account. To do this make sure you use the SAME email address that you use for Square from step 1. This will link the accounts together.
7. Start by trying to login and if not then create an account. Here is a quick link to the Square Developer Dashboard.
8. Once logged in, verify that you can access your Square POS account by clicking on “Account” near the top right of the Square Developer Dashboard. Then right click on “Seller Dashboard” and open in another window.
9. At this point you should be back at your Square POS management page. You should be able to see your Item, Services, etc.
10. Go back to the previous page (Square Developer Dashboard) and click on “Get Started” near the middle of the screen.
11. You should now see “Applications” at the top of this page and a gray box with a + in it. Click on the +.
12. Type in the name you would like to use to know what it will be used for. Example: “Home Inspector Pro - HIP”.
13. You should now see a Blue box like in step 11 with the name you chose in step 12. Click on “Open”.
14. Near the middle at the top you’ll see a toggle that says “Sandbox” (used for testing no live transactions) and “Production” (used for live transactions).
15. Scroll down to see the “Application ID” and “Access Token” ( THESE ARE UNIQUE TO YOU. DO NOT SHARE THEM ). You will know if it is set up for Sandbox if it says “sandbox-” before the “Application ID”. Click “Show” to reveal the “Access Token”.
16. Switch the toggle from Step 14 to “Production”.
17. Login to HIP Office and navigate to the Payment Gateway.
18. Select “Square” from the list. It should not say “Enabled” until you complete the following steps. If it says enabled stop at ask HIP for assistance.
19. Now copy the “Application ID” and “Access Token” (One at a time) from the Square Developer site to HIP Office Payment Gateway.
20. Then click on the Circle toggle so it is blue.
21. You should then See the “Payment Mode” say “Online” and change from Red to Green.
22. Click Save at the bottom to save the settings and begin using Square to accept payments online.
