Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: You’ll get a file from the designer that will have an extension of “.hdzi” in an email. An example would be “businessnamecp.hdzi”. You’ll want to download this to your computer, from that email. Then, it is best to copy it and paste it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Home Inspector Pro\Cover Page Designs if on Windows:
Or Documents\Home Inspector Pro\Cover Page Designs if on Mac.
Step 2: You’ll then want to open HIP and open the template(s) you want to use the custom cover page with. Click on Open Template and choose your template from the list. If you are doing multiple templates, you’ll need to do this process one at a time.
Step 3: Go to Report Settings/Cover Page Designer.
Step 4: Click on Import Layout from file.
Step 5: Browse to the Cover Page Designs folder where you pasted the file. Select the file and click Open.
Step 6: You’ll see the new layout in the preview panel.
Step 7: From here you can adjust text or signature or any of the other options in the Cover Page Designer. You can find an article for that here for the Cover Page Designer Options, or here for the signature and initials.
Step 8: Once the Cover Page looks as you want it, you can now Click on Apply Changes to Template.
Step 9: Then you’ll click on Save Template.
Step 10: Select the Template you are working on. If you want to keep the original and save a new template, change the filename to something different, but make sure to keep the .tpz on the end.
Step 11: You’ll then want to upload the template to the cloud, then download to the mobile so it has the updated template.
