How to Duplicate Sections in Desktop

This article explains how to duplicate an entire section including subsections and comments.

Written by Peter Posada

Quick Summary

Customizing inspection report templates in HIP allows you to tailor reports to meet your specific needs.

Note: The important part of duplicating sections is to rename the section and subsections to be unique and separate from the original section. For instance, if you copy Bedroom, the renamed section should be something like Bedroom 2. For Subsections, you should rename Bedroom Floors to Bedroom 2 Floors. This helps prevent photos or narrative from duplicating between the subsections when writing the report.

Sections can also be moved within a report template using drag-and-drop functionality. However, only one section can be moved at a time, as bulk movement is not supported.

Tips for Effective Customization

  • Plan your template structure in advance to minimize the need for frequent adjustments.
