This issue will typically pop up on Windows based PCs. HIP Desktop uses a scaling model to try to fit into the display. Some PC settings can affect the way the scaling works by not allowing the needed space. This fix helps free up space in the display so HIP Desktop can scale to fit properly.

Note: This fix requires closing HIP Desktop and reopening the application to apply the changes. Be sure to save any work before continuing with this fix.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Fixing Missing/Cut Off Photo Icons

The first option if you notice missing or cut off photo icons on the Add/Review Photos page is to set the Photo Tabs at the top of the screen to appear in only one row. This allows more room on the page to be made available for the icons to appear.

Step 1: Click on Application Settings in the bottom left of the HIP Desktop Application.

Step 2: Check the box for the Scroll Photo Tabs Instead of Wrapping option.

Step 3: Save your work and close the HIP Desktop Application. Open HIP back up and load an inspection to check if the icons are now visible. You can use the Arrows on the photo tab row to navigate to other photo tabs.

Fixing Windows Resolution or Scaling Issues

If the change in application settings does not improve the issue or you notice icons missing or cut off on other pages, like Cover Page Designer, you can try to alter your Windows Display Settings.

Step 1: Right-Click in some empty space on your Windows Desktop Background and select Display Settings from the menu.

Step 2: In the Display Settings Scroll down to Scaling and Layout. Set the Scaling to 100% and the Resolution to the highest setting available on your PC.

Step 3: After changing these settings, close HIP Desktop (if open) and then open the HIP Software to allow the changed settings to apply to the application. Check the locations of the missing or cut off icons for improvement.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues: It is possible that even after making the recommended fixes that HIP Desktop will continue to display icons that are cut off. In this case, it would be the limits of your PC hardware that are the issue. The only way to get HIP to scale properly at that point, would be to give it more room through hardware upgrades. The easiest ways are with a larger monitor or with a pc capable of higher display resolution.
