Quick Summary / Key Steps

To sync HIP Mobile, you need both HIP Desktop (Windows or Mac) and the HIP Mobile app installed on an Android or iOS device, and a valid HIP Office or HIP Office Lite subscription. This article covers how to sync a template from HIP Desktop to HIP Mobile, and how to sync a completed inspection file from HIP Mobile back to HIP Desktop.

You can download the HIP Mobile App by going to the app store on your device and searching for Home Inspector Pro Mobile

The HIP Desktop Application can be downloaded and installed from https://www.homeinspectorpro.com/home-inspector-pro-downloads

To sync a template from HIP Desktop to HIP Mobile, follow these steps:

Step 1: Make sure you are signed in with the same username and password on both the HIP Mobile and HIP Desktop applications.

Step 2: In HIP Desktop click the button on the top right for Mobile Sync.

Step 3: On the Mobile Sync page, click Upload Template.

Step 4: In the File Chooser, select the template file, template files use the .tpz file extension, and click Open.

Step 5. Once the upload is complete you will now complete the transfer on the HIP Mobile application.

Step 6: On HIP Mobile make sure you are on the Sync Tab.

Step 7: On the Sync Tab Click the Refresh Button. The Template you selected for upload should now be available in the drop box.

Note: If the template you uploaded does not appear in the drop box after clicking refresh, click on the drop box and it will show a list of all uploaded templates. Choose your template from the list.

Step 8: Click the Download button.

Note: If you are redownloading a template after making changes on HIP Desktop a pop up will ask if you would like to replace the template. Click yes.

You should get a message that the Download is complete.

Step 9: You can now start an inspection using your sync’d template on HIP mobile by going to the Manage Tab, giving the inspection a name, and clicking Create.

To sync a completed inspection file from HIP Mobile back to HIP Desktop, follow these steps:

Step 1: On the Sync tab on HIP Mobile, Click Upload

Step 2: Select the Inspection File you want to send to HIP Desktop from the list.

Step 3: Once the file is finished uploading, return to your HIP Desktop on your PC and click Mobile Sync.

Step 4: Click on Download Inspections.

Step 5: Click on the Blue Cloud icon of the inspection you want to save to your PC.

Step 6: Once the file finishes downloading, you may close the list and click Open Inspection

Step 7: Select your inspection from the list to open for editing and generating the report.

Having trouble syncing HIP Mobile?

Why can't I log in to upload my template?: First verify your credentials are correct by attempting to log in at homeinspectorpro.com. If your login works there but not in the app, the issue may be a license allocation — contact support to confirm your subscription is active.

Why am I getting an 'Unexpected end of zlib' error when downloading to PC? Error shows when downloading to PC after clicking blue cloud icon. This typically indicates a poor Internet Connection. Try a different connection or wait until you have a stronger signal.

For all other errors or issues contact support.
