How to Create a Quick Caption Comment

This article explains how to create a quick caption comment in HIP Desktop.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: In HIP Desktop, browse to the section and subsection where you would like to create a quick caption.

Step 2: You can double click a current comment or create a new comment to get into the Comment Editor.

Step 3: Place your cursor to the front of the comment and click the Add Caption button.This will add the [[Caption]] tag to your comment. Click Ok.

Step 4: The caption comment will now be denoted by a blue icon with a β€œc” on and your comment will now appear in the dropdown on your photo pages in HIP Desktop and Mobile once you sync the template.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Captions using advanced colors do not show correctly. When applying an advanced color to a caption the color code will show as well denoted by a bracketed number (ex. ||3||). If the color does not apply or is not available to select, check your settings in Advanced colors to ensure the box is checked to allow Advanced Colors for Captions.

FAQ

How many Caption Comments can I have? You can set all your comments to be caption comments if you wish. The AHIT Master Checklist template that comes with the software is set up that way.
