Updating the Home Inspection Authorization Webform Contract
To update your Home Inspection Authorization with your company's contract, you can copy/paste your contract body in to the Home Inspection Authorization form. To do this, log in to your web site, then go to the Home Inspection Authorization on the left menu. Click on the Webform link at the top of the page. You will then see a list of Form Components. The form components are the different pieces of information collected and displayed as part of your webform. You should see the fourth item in the list says "The Parties Understand and Voluntarily Agree as follows". Click on Edit to the right of this item.
Under the Default Value, you will see the contract that is currently displayed on the form. You can right click in the field and choose Select All (or click in the field and type Ctrl-A on your keyboard) then use the Backspace or Delete key on your keyboard to remove the existing content. You can then take a copy of your current inspection contract (either your own, or one provided by your inspection association), then right-click in the Default Value field and select Paste. After the updated contract has been put in place, click Submit at the bottom of the page to save the change.
In addition to the contract body, you will want to update the inspector information listed farther down the page. In the Form Components list, find the entry titled "Inspection fee is payable PRIOR to report delivery" and click Edit to the right. Under the Default Value, you can replace the generic address and company name with your company name, or replace the wording listed altogether. After the updated address information has been put in place, click Submit at the bottom of the page to save the change.
Once you have updated the contract with your own contract, you will want to remove the warning at the top of the Home Inspection Authorization. Click on the Edit link at the top of the form, then under the Body section, remove the "MAKE SURE TO ADD YOUR OWN CONTRACT HERE!!!". This section is the instructions (or preamble) of the contract and direct the customer what to do. Do not enter your contract body in this section, as this will duplicate your contract. You can add in any additional instructions in to this section as well. Once complete, click on Save at the bottom of the page.
To view your finalized contract, click on View at the top of the form, or log out of your site (at the bottom of the Admin Menu) and click on Home Inspection Authorization in the Navigation menu.
